From April 2-6, 2014, Hollywood comes to Sonoma County via the 17th Annual Sonoma International Film Festival (SIFF).

Spread out over five gloriously cinematic days, this year’s edition of SIFF will combine more than 90 hand-selected films including independent features, documentaries, world cinema, shorts, and a showcase of Spanish language films with world-class cuisine from local artisans and exceptional wine from Sonoma vintners.

Adding to the charm of SIFF is the fact that all films are shown at intimate venues within walking distance on Sonoma’s historic plaza, which has in previous years played host to renowned filmmakers, industry leaders and celebrities such as Bruce Willis, Susan Sarandon, Robin Williams, and Danny Glover.

Of particular note on this year’s line-up of films is Queens & Cowboys: A Straight Year on The Gay Rodeo, a film that chronicles a complete season of the International Gay Rodeo Association and the courageous cowboys and cowgirls who have been braving challenges both in and out of the arena while roping and riding across north America for the past 30 years.

Also on the roster, The Human Experiment, a film that explores chemicals found in everyday household products starring and narrated by Sean Penn [See Trailer] and Born in Chicago, a soulful documentary film that chronicles a uniquely musical passing of the torch [See Trailer].
